If there’s one thing that I absolutely LOVE about awards season, it’s Hollywood’s red carpet style. Hot Moms Club headed to the red carpet on behalf of Keurig who was a sponsor of the emmy’s! We we were joined by some friends Mom Generations, Lady and The Blog, A Practical Wedding and (photo credit goes to) Ruth from Viva Veltoro.
Love ’em or hate ’em, there’s no denying that there’s at least one dress from each ceremony that gets us talking for days about how tight, loose, short, long, too dark or too bright it might have been. I mean, this is the celebrity version of our high school proms, isn’t it? At this year’s Emmy’s though, there were so many GREAT dresses. In fact, there were definitely more highs than lows and there might have only been one or two dresses that stood out for the wrong reasons. So… let’s go! Let’s start off with Sofia Vergara. The woman is so freaking beautiful she could have worn a dress from the clearance rack at Kmart and we wouldn’t have noticed. I know a lot of people let out a few yawns about Sofia wearing yet another silohuette-shaped Roberto Cavalli dress, but if it’s not broke, why try to fix it? The woman is Latina and while she’s been blessed with some perfect curves, not every dress is going to look great on her and I’m sure she knows that. I mean, it’s probably illegal to look this drop dead gorgeous in Colombia, but Sofia always makes it look so effortless, doesn’t she? Next up we’ve got Amy Farrah Fowler. Errr, Blossom. I mean, Mayim Biailik. Mayim is the kind of girl I needed to help me pass my chemistry and biology classes back during my high school days. She’s the full package, smart, witty, and beautiful. And while I think she looks stunning and am absolutely loving her hair and make-up here, I’m on the fence about the dress. It’s by Oliver Tolentino. It sort of looks like something Laura Bush would have worn, but then again the color is absolutely stunning and Mayim is owning it the best she can. And I’m sure she’s got a big bang of sorts hidden somewhere underneath that dress as well, ha! Ah, Kerry Washington. She just looks so fresh, so happy and so bright, doesn’t she? It must be that new mother glow she has going on. She just seems like the kind of person you want to have play dates and shopping trips with, right? While I know that pumpkin isn’t everyone’s color, Kerry is owning it here. The dress is by Prada and it has an interesting design with the dark sequined shorts underneath. That, or they’re just a really fancy looking pair of spanx. See, Olivia Pope is both stylish and practical. Oh Mein Gott, it’s Heidi Klum! She’s my third favorite German import, next to BMW’s and beers. While red was definitely the color of the night, Heidi mixed things up a bit by wearing a coral dress on the red carpet (although you can’t really tell in some pics). The supermodel looks simply flawless in this Zac Posen number. I’m always amazed how Heidi, who has four children at home, about a dozen full-time jobs and projects, hosts several television shows and still has the time to look like this each time she leaves the door. One word: wunderbar! Ok, we can all stop what we’re doing. Kevin Spacey is in the house. It’s almost like the President’s arrived, right? But seriously, House of Cards is the number one reason why I will never cancel my subscription to Netflix. Sorry, Hulu. Oh Lena Dunham. Lena, Lena, Lena. I know we’re already drinking pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks now, but Halloween isn’t for another two months, girlfriend. Is she punking us? What do you think of her dress? Say what you will about Katherine Heigl, but she always looks so well put together. She knows she’s a mom and unlike her other Hollywood counterparts, she doesn’t feel the need to show off her goods. Plus, she looks so old Hollywood here, doesn’t she? While a lot of people say her style ages her, I think it suits her quite well. Amy Poehler, can you stop being so cute? This woman doesn’t age, does she? It must be the funny that keeps her young. The actress, who we all know and love best as Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation kept things modern and fun with in this sequined Theia dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. I don’t know about you, but can we start a Leslie Knope-style petition to have every awards show hosted by Amy and her BFF Tina Fey? And when they’re done with that, they can come do my birthday parties and all the family weddings I have to go to this year, too. I know looks are deceiving but yes, this is Kristin Wiig, and no, she is not wearing a bridesmaids dress. Instead, the SNL alum is wearing a white Vera Wang gown that is showing off her fit frame quite well. While the look is pretty simple, along with her hair and makeup here, Kristin still looks like she’s ready to hit the after parties at any given moment. And yes, I’ll have whatever she’s having. And here we’ve got the king of this year’s Oscars, Matthew McConaughey, and his lovely wife Camilla. Not many guys out there can wear a suit this color, but Matthew pulls it off with ease. Plus, Camilla looks like a Brazilian goddess, doesn’t she? She looks like perfection.
