Every one these days is so terrified of spanking their children and we have a bunch of disrespectful, tantrum throwing kids as a result..Now I know this is a tender topic, but this is where I stand. I’m all for a good old fashioned spanking! First, let’s define what a spanking is. A spanking is an opened handed swat usually on the bottom but some choose the hand. anything else I would not consider a spanking.  Now let’s think about the first argument that parents will bring up. “it teaches are kids to hit” That is the biggest load of Bull —- that I have ever heard. A spanking is  a punishment not uncontrolable, random “hitting”. Big difference. You can be one of these parents that just tries to “talk” to your child, but we all know they don’t listen. When they are told over and over and  refuse to listen,  then what? A time out, yeah right. How about giving the child the choice.  “if you do it again, you will get a spanking”. then who’s choice is it? The child’s! THEY are selecting their punishment if they choose to not listen to their parent. They also know there is a consequence to their bad behavior that they really don’t want. Once your child knows you are serious, you won’t even HAVE to spank, you will just have to tell them they will get one and watch how fast they stop.  It’s even better when they are older, a simple “look” will suffice.Let’s not forget, it is our jobs as parents to raise our children to be respectful, kind and good people but when they learn to get away with murder without consequences, what does THAT teach them?  I say, let’s not be afraid of the good ol fashioned spanking and let’s raise great kids!
