What mom doesn’t like to shop?  And, if you’re shopping while at the same time helping people in need and keeping the little ones entertained, it is even better!
“Shop for a Cause: Kid’s Day” took place on Sunday December 6th in West Hollywood.

Parents and their kids enjoyed an engaging and high energy performance from the hot kid’s entertainment group,“The Jumpitz.”  Garcelle’s twins couldn’t get enough of the performance, who jumped and danced to the songs from the group’s latest release, “Jump To It.”  Garcelle even stood up and danced along with her her twins.  Garcelle commented, “The kids watch The Jumpitz DVDs all the time.”

Garcelle picked up some amazing deals including a pair of Shape-Ups snow boots, some great tops and bags and planned to come back the following day to shop for some PJs for her boys. There were pjs from PJ Salvage and Paul Frank on sale. “I love that I am helping such a worthwhile cause.” All the proceeds from the event go to the Cambodian Children’s Fund.

Also spotted was Marissa Winokur, looking better than ever, who was accompanied by her husband, television writer Judah Miller and son Zev.   Zev modeled during the Twirls and Twigs Fashion Show. Marissa stated, “What a great way to both give and receive at the same time!”

Renee Baio attended “Kids Day” with her gorgeous 20 year old daughter, Kaelyn.  The mom and daughter pair was seen shopping around for tees and shoes.  When asked why Bailey didn’t attend, Renee stated that she and her famous papa were home with the “sniffles.”

As the producers of The Shop For A Cause noted, all the attendees of this successful event enjoyed their Sunday shopping for some Holiday gifts, singing and dancing, and all for a great cause. “In our current economy, big fundraising events are not going to do much in terms of charity. We put our heads together to organize this event where everyone can benefit. Manufacturers can unload overstocked products, gain a tax benefit, and shoppers get very good deals to benefit a sweet charity. This kind of event is an emerging trend that is sensitive to our current economic situation,” said Steven Yamin, the head of Conscience Collective. The shopping event has been extended until December 20th.
