We all know how popular face book is, but how old should you have to be to start? The social Networking site specifies 13 years old, but there are plenty of families who have their children who are much younger already on this site. How old would your children have to be, if at all?
I am comfortable with 15 years old and monitored. That is the age of my oldest son and he has a facebook, again, it’s monitored. But I think a lot of it also has to do with the maturity level of the child. But I do think 13 is a bit young yet.
I also think 13 is too young. Facebook is a site used by alot of adults and having children 13 years old an younger on a site only opens the door for a child to be exploited and possibly victimized. I also think any child who interacts on a social networking site (regardless of age) needs to be monitored by their parents. So many parents have no idea of what their children are up to which is both sad and unfortunate.
