The Dragonfly Inn is back and we’re going back to Stars Hollow! Netflix is in negotiations to revive the beloved mother-daughter drama Gilmore Girls, starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, The Hollywood Reporter and TV Line reported on Monday, Oct. 19.  I am going to assume that because I watched the entire series in 2 months this summer, Netflix got the memo it was time to bring it back and reunite Laureli and Luke and Rori and Logan ( because well Logan has turned in a very successful lawyer on The Good Wife:)

According to The Hollywood Reporter , the streaming service is talking with series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about bringing back Rory (Bledel) and Lorelai (Graham) for four 90-minute movies. An insider told the site that production would start early next year.

Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007 on The WB/CW, earning a loyal, loving fan base who delighted in the bond between mom and daughter, and celebrated every Stars Hollow festival as if the town were their own.

Last fall, the series was made available to stream on Netflix, sparking a rabid, renewed interest in the show. The cast — minus the late Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore), who passed away on New Year’s Eve 2014 — reunited at the ATX Television Festival in June, and addressed the possibility of a reunion.

“There is nothing in the works,” Sherman-Palladino said at the time. “But the good news is, nobody here hates each other.” She added, too, that if they ever did decide to do a reboot, they’d “do it correctly.”

The stars, for their part, seemed game to get back to their tiny Connecticut town. Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) said it was “kind of time,” while Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) said the show needed a proper “wrap and a finale.”

The Hollywood Reporter says many of the series’ original cast members are in talks to return. Not among them, however, is Melissa McCarthy, who played Lorelai’s best friend Sookie St. James.

Gilmore Girls isn’t the only show on Netflix’s reboot list. The company is also producing Fuller House, a spinoff of the ’90s sitcom Full House, starring Candace Cameron Bure.
