A Grandfather Bonds With His Adopted Grandson Over Their Mutual Missing Hands

Lesley and Doug Facey had been going through the international adoption process for 3 years trying to adopt their son Kirill, who they recently brought home from an orphanage in Kazakhstan. But it wasn’t until this past March when the couple learned that Kirill was missing his right hand, after receiving their first picture of the boy. And while most couples may find this to be something of a deterrent, as did the 6 Kazakh couples who passed on adopting Kirill because of his missing hand, it made Lesley and Doug want him that much more.
