We’re strong, independent, nurturing and wise. Well, most of the time were wise. Apparently not when it comes to skin care. Bare Naked Beauty… The average woman in North America uses 12 personal care products per day. By doing so, she exposes herself to over 200 unique chemical ingredients, most of them unfit to scrub toilets with, never mind slather on your head or skin. And why?! To be more beautiful? Are you serious? Come on yummy mummies, you’re smarter than that. It’s time for a quick lesson on skin care so you can embrace your real inner beauty and save your body from daily 200+ chemical attacks.

Lesson #1

Skin is a Permeable Membrane. Up to 60% of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your bloodstream (think nicotine patch).

Buyer Beware. Contrary to popular belief, cosmetics/skin care products are NOT tested for safety before hitting store shelves. Cosmetic manufacturers have to list ingredients on their product labels, but it’s up to you, oh wise consumer, to understand what these ingredients are. The new INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) language mandated by Health Canada is a fancy latin sounding language. You need to do your research to understand what those words mean and whether or not you want those ingredients on/in your body.
