*SPOILER ALERT* if you haven’t seen last night’s Dancing With The Stars.
Bindi Irwin was crowned the winner of Dancing With The Stars last night, which should come as a surprise to no one since she was a fan favourite from the beginning. With all 3 final contestants scoring near perfect marks, the final decision came down to the voters who have loved the 17 year old from the start. In fact, she’s the only contestant that I heard about religiously every week because her performances have just been that good, and this week was no exception, so it’s no surprise that she won the Mirror Ball trophy.
While Bindi and partner Derek Hough’s performance on Monday night was enough to bring the audience to tears, Bindi made us even sob-ier by posting the last picture taken of her and her dad (as well as her mom and brother) to her Instagram page.
In the caption Bindi wrote ‘The last photo ever taken of us as a family. The day before I had to wave goodbye to my hero, without knowing it would be the last time. But Dad, I know you walk beside me always and your strength lives within me. I love you.’
Bindi dedicated her freestyle dance on Monday, titled ‘Footprints in the Sand’ to her late father and has said that she often feels his presence as she rehearses. “Sometimes during rehearsals it feels like there’s three people in the room,” Bindi shared. “And I do feel like dad is still with me, every day.”
Did you watch Dancing With The Stars this season? To me, Bindi was always the clear favourite so I wasn’t surprised by her win. Did you want Nick Carter to win instead?
