Anyone who’s a fan of Marvel comics knows The Avengers well. Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson star in the upcoming movie as just a few of the iconic band of superheroes based on the comic book series first published in 1963. The Avengers tells the story how the ultimate dream team of superheroes was first called to action by Marvel’s famous Nick Fury character (Samuel Jackson)… uniting Iron Man (Downey), The Incredible Hulk (Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Johansson) to save our world from cosmic doom.
The movie is packed – from start to finish – with nonstop action that keeps you entertained and energized… the film guarantees a fantastic family night at the movies. The movie is also great proof to Downey and Ruffalo’s kids that their Hollywood dads really are tough and cool. But as Hollywood Hot Moms found out, the best stuntperson on set happened to be the mother of a 3 year old little girl .. Cobie Smulders. Iron Man’s got nothin’ on her. The Incredible Hulk had better brace himself. And Black Widow should watch her back. Agent Maria Hill has got them all in check.
Cobie Smulders (known best as Robin from CBS’ comedy hit How I Met Your Mother) plays the uber-intelligent Agent Hill. She doesn’t have any superpowers, but she’s got some killer leather outfits… and apparently the best moves on a wire. “Cobie is one of the best stunt people on the Avengers team,” director Joss Whedon noted at a recent press conference. “She did all her own jumpin’ and flippin’ and shootin’ and stuff… she’s got that tomboy thing. You know what I’m talking about… that hot mom tomboy thing.”
Whedon also admitted to making an extra effort to add frames of Smulders’ face during a flipping action sequence in the movie so audiences could see her clearly and know that it wasn’t the work of a stuntwoman. “Yeah, that was fun to do,” Smulders grinned. As a parent, being a part of a superhero movie like this means “a lot more action-figures in the house” Cobie laughed. “I think we have all of them, and she [her 3 year old daughter] knows all of the names.” Shooting the movie also made her feel like a supermom. “It’s very cool to be a woman in a man’s world in this film and have my daughter see that. That’s probably the coolest thing.” And the sleek costumes aren’t too shabby either.
