4-Year-Old Girl Killed By Family’s New Dog After Mom Tries to Release Dog’s Grip

I have to admit that I’m not really a dog person. It’s not that I dislike dogs by any means, I just am not one of those people who trips over themselves to pet a dog. It may have something to do with the fact that I’m just tired from constantly cleaning up after four kids already or maybe, as my sister, who is an avid dog lover, accuses me of, I really do not have a soul. Some people are just more inclined to love dogs, I guess, and I’m not one of them. Although this weekend, my daughters and I dog-sat for my sister’s adorable little Pomeranian pooch and I have to say, for the first time in my life, I was considering how much fun it would be to have a dog for my kids to grow up with. She was so cute and fun and seeing her snuggle with my six-year-old at nighttime melted my cold, dog-neutral heart. But, unfortunately, tales like these make me take a step back and consider exactly what type of dog might be best for a family.
