Get your kids to work!
When it comes to my children picking up after themselves, it’s an ongoing battle that never seems to end. And for those who say not to worry about it because they’ll eventually grow out of their slob ways, sorry but you might be wrong. I know of adults who never pick up after themselves to the point in which I have no clean place to sit whenever I visit their house!
Learning to be responsible and help out with household chores should be part of every child’s upbringing. Children who grow up expecting mom and dad to do everything for them usually grow up to be adults who expect their significant partner to do the same (and no one wants to live with someone like that, right?).
With everything I have going on, I barely have the time to clean up after every single person in my household and that’s why I’ve been emphasizing chores now more than ever before. If you’re elementary school-aged kids haven’t learned these 5 essential chores by now, it’s time to get to work. And if your kids are still toddlers, there’s no harm in teaching them early.
Trust me, getting a small army to clean after themselves will make YOUR life so much easier.
5 essential chores every child should learn by the time they are in elementary school.
