When I make my children’s school lunches each morning, I always try to make an effort in giving them wholesome meals that contain enough protein, fruits and vegetables to give them the energy they need to make it through the long school day. And while I try my best to give them leftover dinners like pasta or vegetable rice along with snacks like grapes, gluten-free pretzels and blueberries, from time to time, I also give them a treat like a chocolate chip cookie or their favorite brand of gummy snacks. After all, it’s all about moderation at the end of the day, right? Well, yes and perhaps…. no. Turns out there are some major dangers involved with some popular kid snacks and we could be putting our children's health in real jeopardy.
