Alert: A Third Child Has Died After Ikea Dresser Tips Over

I really, really have a hard time admitting this to people, but when my son was 15-months-old a dresser fell over and landed on his foot. Even though I was nearby, he was dangling from the dresser drawers until the entire thing came down on him. We rushed him to the hospital and found out he fractured two of his little bones and had to wear a cast for at least three weeks for his foot to heal.I’m sure you’re thinking: did we nail every piece of standing furniture to the wall after this happened? Absolutely. We hear of way too many stories of children getting hurt within our own homes and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to end anytime soon. Because kids are curious and things fall, you can never be 100 percent sure that you’re home is childproof at all times.Yet, now we’ve got even more troubling news: reports indicate that a third child has died after a popular Ikea dresser tipped over onto him. It's such a sad and tragic story.[ad type="aboveimagead1"]
