Holly Madison Is Taking Her Time Shedding Her Post-Baby Weight And Why You Should, Too

There’s no rush to get back into those pre-pregnancy jeans.

During both of my pregnancies I gained well over 60 pounds each time. It’s not a statement that I’m proud to make or even admit to as if I were to do it all over again I would be more conscious about what I eat and put in my body. My baby’s health and well-being depends on my health and well, there’s really no reason why anyone should eat the entire stash of Halloween candy, ever (oops).

After I gave birth to my first child, I believed in that preconceived notion that I would be able to lose all of my post-pregnancy weight simply by breastfeeding around-the-clock with some light exercise here and there, like taking my baby on walks in her stroller or deep cleaning the house.

I figured I would be able to fit into my favorite Lucky Brand jeans within a matter of months. Those months passed by and it didn’t take much for me to realize that I was wrong. Instead of losing my weight within three months, it took me a good year and a half to fit into my jeans again.

And with my second pregnancy it took even longer with over two years for me to reclaim my old body back.

But then again… is losing your pregnancy weight a race? Celebrity mom and former reality television star Holly Madison weighs in on this common parenting stress and I’m surprised by what she says.

Holly Madison admits that she’s taking her time in shedding the 60 pounds she gained during her most recent pregnant.

It shouldn’t be treated as a race!
