I’ll be the first to admit that whenever I see a gym buff or a CrossFit fanatic, I can’t help but think of all the stereotypes that are associated with people who spend endless hours at the gym (working on their fitness as they say….). Self-absorbed, image-obsessed, calorie-counting people who only want to talk about their WOD (workout of the day) and bench presses.
Well, I couldn’t be more wrong. In fact, I’ll go as far as saying that I’m embarrassingly wrong, too.
Orlando resident and Hybrid Athletes owner Greg Smith, 25 years old, is telling his story of how he passed by a homeless woman each day as he goes to work. Little by little, he formed an unusual friendship with this woman named Amy Joe. He would sit down and talk to her until he realized that Amy Joe is a kind-hearted woman who has had a few unfortunate wrong turns in life.
But what Amy Jo told him during lunch one day definitely shocked him. And what Smith did in return will definitely shock you….
This personal trainer has formed a unique friendship with a homeless woman and now he’s even helping her learn to read.
