The possibilities for our daughters are endless.
When I was a young girl, one of the things I absolutely loved getting in the mail was magazines. I was a huge bookworm that read everything from the “Babysitters Club” to the “Girl Talk” books (yes, I was a true product of a 1980’s upbringing). I was fortunate enough to grow up in a world before social media and when it was enough for a kid to simply be a kid. I explored with my imagination outside and dared as often as I could to ask about the who, what, where, when and why. I mostly thank the books and magazines I read for opening me up to a world full of endless possibilities.
As much as I encourage my 8-year-old daughter to read (which she does but not as much as I would like for her to), I’ve noticed that more girls her age are picking up iPads and handheld tablets before anything with paper. Fortunately, there’s a new girl’s magazine on the horizon that wants to encourage our daughters not only to be avid readers, but to be thinkers, too.
In a world full of Kardashians, reality television and social media, it’s great to see a publication that offers something different and inspiring.
KAZOO is a new print magazine for girls ages 5 to 10 and inspires them to be smart, strong, fierce and true to themselves.
