Let them figure it out

I will admit, I’m guilty of discovering my kids forgotten homework on the kitchen counter after they’ve left for school, and jumping in my car to drop it off for them. I’ve also had days when I’ve left the homework on the counter because it’s their responsibility to ensure they have their homework packed, not mine.

At the end of the day, I tend to make the judgement call about whether I think my kids need me to ‘rescue’ them if they’ve forgotten something at home. One school however is making their feelings very well known to all parents that they want their students to learn to problem solve on their own.

While some parents love it, others think it’s a bit too harsh.

Are parents doing too much for their kids? One school thinks so, and it’s putting a stop to it with a new sign.
