Bounce house related injuries are skyrocketing.
Are bounce houses safe? That’s what parents can’t help but wonder as there’s renewed concern over the use of bounce castles at birthday parties and events. This comes after a 7-year-old girl was killed at an Easter fair in England this past weekend.
Eyewitnesses say the castle was swept away by a gust of wind. The little girl inside the bounce house was rushed to the hospital and later died of multiple injuries.
Now, parents are concerned that these inflatable bounce houses (which my own kids absolutely love, BTW) might put our children at risk. I mean, how do we know these bounce castles have been properly installed and mounted to the ground or are in good shape to begin with? Do we know if operators are available to stay at the parties to monitor the bounce houses while children are playing inside it?
What’s more, whose fault is it when things go wrong at parties that have bounce houses?
