A pain in the shoulder and back turned to be something serious
Aimee Garrison was enjoying her second pregnancy, while chasing around her toddler. The 33-year-old Michigan marathoner led an active life, running and lifting weights – even during her pregnancy.
But when she was 25 weeks along, she suffered some pain in her shoulder. At first, she didn’t think much of it, thinking she’d hurt her muscle or pinched a nerve at the gym. “It had bothered me before,” she says, “but I blew it off as weights.”
A pregnant mama thought she was having your run of the mill pregnancy pain, but when it got worse, she knew it was something scary — and she was right.
