Is this lawsuit for real?
Whenever I think of crazy lawsuits in American history, the first one that comes to mind is when a woman was awarded millions of dollars when McDonalds failed to inform her that her coffee was “hot” after she accidentally spilled it on herself. Yes, I know it’s a sign of our (worrying) times but common sense isn’t all that common anymore, especially when you get a load of this story here.
I mean, we’ve all purchased items in the past that we’ve later found to be defective, right? A missing button or a zipper or a cute shirt that you spotted at TJ Maxx that turns out to have a big gaping hole on the sleeve, right? It’s happened to all of us.
But how this mother managed to get $125,000 from a pair of $24.99 shoes that she later found to be defective, really blows my mind.
The Gap is paying up a whole lot of cash to this mom after her toddler slipped while wearing the popular retail brand’s shoes.
