Dose of the heebie-jeebies.
Kids say the darndest things. And by darndest, I mean sometimes, kids say the downright creepiest things.
My son, for example, has been obsessed lately with death. And while I am fully aware that death is simply a part of life, it’s still a little creepy when your adorable little preschooler son who loves tractors and has dimples for days is standing behind you nonchalantly asking you when we’re all going to die.
Other times, kids say things that seriously make you wonder if they have some sort of connection to a knowledge of intuition that as adults, we have drowned out with our constant screens and distractions and work. One of my kids has a 100% success rate when predicting the genders of women’s pregnancies, even through photos alone and another one of my kids routinely cries at night because she says someone in our family is feeling sad.
It’s all very mysterious, a little scary, and it also makes you take pause when you hear of it happening to other parents too.
A mom went out for a run and when her little boy followed her out crying, she knew it was serious.
