“In 15 years of scholarship, the most important thing that I’ve learned is that we don’t do enough to support mothers and babies,” said Hinde.
I know it’s a very fickle, strange, bizarre and downright embarrassing election year, but as women, you’d think that with most tables turned against us in society (wage gap, work inequalities, lack of real maternity care, etc.) we could rally and fight that all important fight together. But, no. That day has not come yet.
There’s a new report that says one working mother – and a pretty impressive multi-tasking if I can add – was kicked out of a TEDWomen conference from bringing her baby and doing this during one of the speeches about how powerful, successful and inspirational females are.
So I guess there’s no place for women at a conference that is supposed to help support women?
