Why wouldn’t you RSVP? It only takes a second.
If there’s one thing that really riles me up, it’s ignorance. Especially towards children. As parents, we all like to believe that we are so incredibly busy that we don’t have even one second of our time to reach out to someone, offer them some much needed comfort or at least acknowledge them and show them that they truly care.
I mean, I get it – I always complain about not having a 25th hour in my day to get all of my sh*t done. But when it comes to my children’s school work or going through the mess of papers they bring home everyday, I take the time to check it. If I see an invite to a school function or a birthday party, I make note of it, and always RSVP whether we can make it or not. I don’t get it why parents simply can’t do this when they would rather spend their time on Facebook or Instagram or watching a marathon of ‘Stranger Things’ on Netflix. It only takes a second, people. And after you read this story of how NO ONE RSVP’d to this little boy’s party and how it absolutely crushed him and his family, it will make you never want to miss another RSVP again.
No child should be left in tears on their own birthday.
