One Mom Said We Should Stop Giving Siblings Gifts During Kid Birthdays – And She’s Right

When my son was born about six years ago, I read plenty of parenting books that said I should buy gifts for my daughter as a way to help celebrate her new title as a big sister and of course avoid any jealousy issues that may arrive with the birth of her younger brother. For plenty of years after that I also made a conscious effort to buy one child a present even on their sibling’s birthday just so they don’t feel left out.I know it might sound like a ‘lazy parenting’ thing to do, but trust me when I saw I just wanted to avoid any drama that would arise especially if all hell would break lose over a toy.Well now, one mom is weighting in on this trend and she's absolutely right.[ad type="aboveimagead1"]
