Sexist dress code
Although my daughter is not there yet, I know that sooner or later she’s going to start making her own choices about her appearance, which of course includes what she wears and how she wears it. I mean, it comes with the territory of being a pre-teen or teenage girl when, for most, their image means everything.
Yet there’s one school in Australia that’s trying to ban short skirts, make-up and “sexy-selfies” in order for students to “protect their integrity.” The ban was implemented after students at the school were found to be victims of an online “porn ring,” in which young men shared and traded non-consensual nude images of young girls. Now both students and parents are fighting back.
These parents are angry after their daughters were told to wear longer skirts for their own good.
