Being in my late thirties, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not too crazy about my bikini body. Of course, it’s not what it used to be at 21 as I’ve definitely earned by tiger stripes through two pregnancies, several years of pregnancy and just overall bad-assery that comes with being a mother warrior, but I won’t go out in public in a bikini. I try to cover up certain parts that need to spend a good week at the repair shop (while getting my tires rotated). Maybe one day I’ll feel comfortable about the way my body looks but until then I’ll be taking the modest route with a capital M.
Yet, there’s a new campaign that is helping women overcome their fears, faults and hang-ups they have with their figures with a new campaign called ‘Underneath We Are Women.” And honestly, they might be on to something.
Here are just a few women who are showing what’s underneath their clothes to fight beauty stereotypes.
