Should kids get trophies just for participating?
Remember last football season when Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison forced his sons, who are eight and six years old, to return “Best of the Batch” trophies, saying kids shouldn’t be rewarded for participation. He said “these trophies will be given back until they EARN a real trophy… because sometimes your best is not enough!”
Well, for this father, there’s no such thing as getting a trophy for just showing up too! Instead, he wants to teach his son to not only learn how to get the job done, but to get the job done the right way, too.
