When Tricia Somers was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, her first thought went to her 8-year-old son, and who would be there to care for him when she was gone.
Both of her parents had passed away from cancer, and she had left his father due to a domestic violence situation. It was then that she turned to her nurse and new friend Tricia Seaman and asked for the ultimate sacrifice – to raise her son for when she was gone.
