We need to stop shaming our daughters

Ah, back to school time, when parents everywhere are thrilled to finally have some semblance of peace and quiet back in their homes. Unless you’re the parent of a girl, that is, then you have to worry every morning if what your daughter wears will adhere to some antiquated dress code enforced by your school. Will her shirt be long enough? Are her pants too tight? Is she offending some poor, unsuspecting boy and causing him so much distress he simply can’t concentrate?! How dare she!

Not even one week back to school for many kids and we’ve already seen our first viral instance of dress codes gone crazy! One would think that sending your 11-year-old to school in floral leggings and a long shirt would be perfectly appropriate attire for school, but for one mom and daughter, they’d be wrong.
