'Granny Pods' allow grandparents to live in our backyards.
It’s a question that really doesn’t need an answer, but I’ll ask it anyway: would you let your mother-in-law live in your backyard? Because if so, it’s apparently becoming a trend as “granny pods” are allowing grandparents to live in high-tech backyard cottages.
While it’s an idea that I wouldn’t dismiss totally (because we’re talking about a cottage in the backyard here, folks), MedCottages has been getting mixed reviews, mostly because some people see it as putting your aging parents and in-laws “in storage.” But at the same time, they are also considered nursing homes inside a caregivers home, so if my mother-in-law needed the care and my husband insisted on it, who am I to say no?
Would you let your mother-in-law live in your backyard if she needed you?
