Going for Gold – Sexy Metallic Eyes
Oscar night would have made the Olympic panel proud. The metals of gold, silver and bronze were all represented. The competition was fierce, but with elegance and grace. And the judges had Nikons, not numbers.
Gold-dusted eyes on SJP (my love-hate relationship with her pale yellow Chanel Haute Couture gown was confusing)
Silvery makeup on Kate Winslet’s complementing her pewter YSL (that is if you could see past the reflection on the $2.5 million Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace)
Demi Moore’s metallic bronze glow against her stunning Atelier Versace tiered blush gown (does she age?)
Metallic makeup–a fun trend we’re going to see for the spring as well, not just Red Carpet. This look couldn’t be easier or more modern. Light sparkle for day; heavy metal for night. First rule: Metallics do not go everywhere. You are not a disco ball. You are not the Tin Woman. Choose only two areas, like your eyes and cheeks. And if icy silver gives you the chills, consider trying warmer metallics like bronze and gold.
- Apply a beige eyeshadow all over the lid. This will prime the lids and also allow the true sparkle to come through.
