If you have daughters who are tweens or quickly approaching the tween years, you have no doubt experienced how much most tween girls love makeup. My daughter is 13 now (and still loves makeup) and has been experimenting with mascara and lipgloss and every other beauty product she could get her hands on since she was about 11. It never really bothered me because I was the exact same at the age, often wearing way more makeup than I should, but it was just a phase and I quickly grew out of it.
Fortunately for our tweens and teens, they have things like YouTube tutorials that show them how to correctly apply their makeup. My daughter can do her makeup better than I can now, which makes me only a bit jealous:)
Gwyneth Paltrow, actress and Goop-er extraordinare, is now branching out in to the makeup world with a partnership with Juice Beauty. Gwyneth spoke to Yahoo! Beauty about her own tween’s obsession with makeup and how different it was from her own experience.
Gwyneth says of Apple, “my daughter is the exact opposite of me—she’s basically a fledgling makeup artist. She watches YouTube and all that and loves makeup.”
Do you let your tween wear makeup? Do you think kids should be a certain age before they can wear makeup?
