Do you live with your phone constantly in your hand? Do you have every special moment, every kids sporting event or school concert and every birthday party celebration captured in pictures and video on your phone? I’m guilty of spending more time watching my kids play hockey or open birthday presents through the lens of my phone’s camera than I am actually experiencing the event as it happens.
A new picture has recently gone viral showing just how important it is to put the phone away sometimes and just enjoy and live in the moment. When this picture from the Black Mass film premiere in Brookline, Mass., was first released, it initially looked like every other crowd of people waiting to catch a glimpse of a celebrity at a movie premiere. Until you look a bit closely and see that there’s one person who seems to be enjoying herself more than the rest. You can see it, right? It’s the older woman in the front, who instead of craning to get her smart phone perfectly positioned to get a good shot of Johnny Depp or maybe Dakota Johnson, she’s simply enjoying herself.
Honestly, look at that picture and ask yourself who looks to be having the better time? Is it the person desperately trying to get their camera settings just right, or the person angling their phone just so they can maybe get a ‘selfie’ with one of the stars, or is that woman in the front who’s just taking it all in?
While I love the convenience of my camera phone and I love capturing special moments
