For the past few years I’ve been making everyone’s birthday cake in my house. None of my kids ever want anything fancy, but they like to pick their cake and icing flavour and then they request maybe some M&M’s or Skittles or some other candy to decorate it. They also always request a 4 layer cake which is very easy to make but not so easy to cut. I’ve always cut my round cakes using the typical ‘pie’ cut so it looks like this.
Unfortunately, what eventually ends up happening is in addition to the exposed sides getting dry and crusty, my cake ends up falling over because of all the layers! Thanks to this video I’ve discovered that I, and probably you, have been cutting our round cakes wrong this entire time!
