We are always searching for the NON “MOM” vehicle, the Kia Soul definitely caught our interest. The 2012 Kia Soul had a very young and cool feeling that I might buy it for my teenager but trade often….. it’s conveniently compact, the price is right and could totally spend the day driving around with the family!!!

You can feel that the new, more powerful four-cylinder engine in the 2012 model makes this compact car a little quicker on the road and could keep up with some (reasonable) speed on the highway. Maneuvering a SUV can be challenging with parallel parking, twists and short stops but the KIA SOUL helped up well! The Soul comes with a standard 135-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that gets an EPA-estimated 27/35 mpg city/highway. The Soul’s standard safety features are front-wheel drive, all-disc antilock brakes with brake assist, active front head restraints, an electronic stability system with traction control and six airbags, including side curtains for both rows. A backup camera is standard on the highest trim level, but available on the other trims.

Loved the style of the Kia Soul and the INTERIOR was as super spacious! I did not even have a child kicking the back of my seat! Loved the Cupholders and all of the great space!!! The Leather Seats, navigation, push-button start with smart key and an amazing sound system, Remote keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats and an multimedia system with a backup camera. My most Favorite part was being able to punch in the numbers on my call. So I can genuinely keep the cell phone out of my hands.

The Soul is surprisingly bigger then it looks… As it is taller than a wagon or sedan, but it’s not as high off the ground. Which helps kids and Grandparents get in and out easier!!!  The cargo area could fit our double stroller and The 60/40-split folding rear seats allowed us to fill up and get ready for teacher appreciation! It went extremely smooth transporting their priceless pots!

ONE IMPORTANT FACT! The 2012 Soul has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.  “TVehicles are listed in order of performance in crash tests. Frontal crashes receive the highest weight, followed by side and rollover, and then rear crashes. Among vehicles with similar crash test results, vehicles are listed in alphabetical order. Frontal and rear crash ratings should be compared only among vehicles of similar weight while side impact and rollover crash test ratings can be compared across vehicle type and weight categories. Except where noted, vehicle models rated below have a standard complement of side airbags, generally consisting of front and rear curtain airbags to protect the head and front seat-mounted airbags to protect the torso. Electronic stability control (ESC) is a federal requirement for all vehicles starting with the 2012 model year.”
