The Queen of Pop, Madonna partnered with Smirnoff in search of one dancer that will join her on her next tour. 600 video tapes were submitted from all over the globe and 11 lucky dancers were chosen for the final round all in hope to share some spotlight next to the icon.
The event was held at the Roseland Ballroom in Times Square and it was absolute mayhem. Kids started lining up outside at 2 a.m. and by the time I arrived, two large python lines were wrapped around the door proving that the Queen is still relevant.
Doors opened at 9 p.m. but Madonna arrived at midnight rocking her knee-high boots, fish nets and a bustier. Proving that age really is just nothing but a number for the rich and famous, she sat next to her 24 year-old boyfriend, Brahim Zaibat.
Dancers performed as a group and then individual performances followed. Lil’ Buck from Memphis, TN took the winning prize. Which doesn’t surprise me since his solo was incredible and not unlike when Michael Jackson debuted his moon-walk combined with the grace of a ballerina. I can’t wait for her next tour with Lil’ Buck by her side.
