Milk + Bookies Celebrity Story Time For National Literacy Month

Busy Phillips with her daughter, Birdie

Busy Phillips (Cougar Town), Constance Zimmer (Entourage), Elizabeth Rohm (Law & Order), Mason Cook (Spy Kids 4D), Caroline Sunshine (Shake it Up) and Alexis Bellino (Real Housewives of Orange County) spent September 24-25 at Westfield Culver City reading books and promoting the non-profit Milk + Bookies. These celebrities generously donated their time to share their love of reading with L.A. families while educating the public about National Literacy month.

Milk + Bookies is a nationwide charitable organization that encourages children to give back by donating new books to their peers who don’t have access to books of their own.  Milk + Booties events feature music, story time and, of course, milk and cookies.  The September event at Westfield Culver City included all that and dance off hosted by Caroline Sunshine.

Some highlights of the weekend included: Busy Phillips reading “Miss Rumphries ” with daughter Birdie, cuddled next to her, Constance Zimmer reading “The Giving Tree” followed by Knock Knock jokes, Elizabeth Rohm along with her daughter donating books to the Venice Boys + Girls Club, and Mason Cook reading “Puff the Magic Dragon”, not to mention all the participants enjoying Isabella’s Cookies.

A great cause and fun weekend for the celebrities and all the families who attended.
