Whenever I think of a man going commando, I always think of that one scene in Friends when Joey threatens to wear Chandler’s pants without any underwear on. I know, the scene has nothing to do with this study, but I couldn’t help but mention it, ha!
There’s a new report that says men should go commando more often if they want to have kids in their future. And all of a sudden millions of women from around the world are nodding their heads in agreement.
According to the New York Post, National Institute of Child Health and Development and Stanford University researchers found that men who wear boxers during the day — and nothing when they sleep — had 25 percent lower rates of damaged DNA in their sperm compared to those who opt for tighty-whities during the day and at night.
And if there is a man out there that is still wearing tighty-whities, it’s time to update your calendar, because it’s no longer 1986, folks.
“Type of underwear worn during the day and to bed is associated with semen quality,” according to this study. “Better [sperm] quality parameters are observed in men wearing boxers during the day and none in bed.”
Hear that, men? The key to better fertility and eventual fatherhood is to let your pals breathe a little better in there.
