Should An 8-Year-Old Girl Be Wearing This Much Makeup?

Unless you’ve spent sometime across the pond or watched Katie Price’s short-lived reality television series on the E! channel back in 2007 (don’t be shy, raise your hand as I watched it, too!) there’s a good chance that you’re not familiar with the model and British socialite, who also goes by the name of Jordan. Well, the celebrity mother is getting slammed left and right by her critics in the U.K. for posting a sassy video of her 8-year-old daughter Princess (yep, that’ her legal name) wearing a ton of makeup.

According to the Daily Mirror, Princess’ father, pop star Peter Andre is none too happy over the fact that his ex-wife Katie is turning their daughter into her mini-me.

To make matters worse, Katie shared a video of little Princess firing back at her critics by saying, “By the way, I’m the one who does my makeup, not my mum and it’s none of your beeswax so ooooossshhh.”

Unfortunately, a lot of comments under the YouTube video included:

That is a tragedy. You can see exactly where that kid’s life is going.

I’m SURE Peter is so incredibly proud of this clip. insert sarcasm

Like she said, she wants to do her make-up NOT her mum – so oosh! lol!! Yes she is cheeky, and justly so; when people criticised her mum, she is putting everyone straight. Good for her. Criticise her and that is what we get.

Yikes! It seems like everyone has an opinion in this case. While I agree that it’s not a crime to have a child wear makeup, there’s a huge difference in making a little girl look like she belongs on a burlesque stage and putting on subtle makeup to play with in the privacy of your own home.

Plus, little Princess has her whole life to play with makeup and experiment with different looks. I’ve always believed in letting girls be little girls and teaching them that what they say is way more important than what they wear.

Thoughts, Hot Moms?
