These Maternity Ward Beds Are Being Hailed As A ‘Game Changer’

If you’ve ever had a baby (and if you’re reading this, chances are you have) then you know what it’s like to be laying in your super uncomfortable hospital bed, probably in a lot of pain from the waist down, wondering how you’re going to get out of your bed to go pick up your newborn who is lying in the hospital provided bassinet at the foot, or even side of your bed. Sure it’s not so bad during visiting hours when there’s other people in the room to hand the baby to you, but when it’s late and you’re all alone it’s not that easy, especially if you’ve had a c-section and you can’t move that quickly.

How awesome would it be to have had a bed like that when you had your baby? After 3 c-sections I can guarantee you that I would have loved to have had something like this in the hospital instead of having to get up out of bed to bring the baby to me each time I wanted to see him. Not only would it give you peace of mind having the baby sleep beside you, but what new mom doesn’t want to constantly gaze into the eyes of their newborn babe?! This would make those immediate postpartum hours so much easier on mom.

No word on where this amazing postpartum bed comes from, but let’s hope we see them in our labor and delivery wards sooner than later.
