This Dad Decided To Become A Real Life ‘Elf On The Shelf’ And The Photos Are Insane!

If you’re like me you probably have mixed feelings about The Elf on the Shelf. My kids absolutely love our Elf (his name is Buddy) but he’s a lot of work, finding new places to move to every day and making sure he’s somewhere safe where no one will touch him.

One Canadian couple decided that they would have some fun with their ‘Elf on the Shelf’ after seeing their friends posting pictures of their elves various poses and exploits on facebook everyday, so they decided to do a human Elf on the Shelf photo.

Joe and Megan Wynberg from Moncton, New Brunswick got Joe a costume, sat him on top of the fridge and took a picture. Joe told Buzzfeed ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if we did a human Elf On A Shelf?’” After Megan posted the fridge picture to her facebook page “It kind of took off from there.”

So we finally caved and decided to do the “Elf on the Shelf” thing. The kids are going to be so surprised! We named our elf FLE and he will be in some pretty precarious spots over the next 24 days! Enjoy.

Wow! That’s dedication. After all the positive reaction to the first picture, Megan and Joe kept going, posting more and more crazy and funny pictures to facebook, showing they are definitely way more creative parents than my husband and I are!

Well, day one, and I am not sure about this “Elf on the Shelf” thing. FLE ate the kids advent calendars, they will be devastated!

FLE is out of control! I need to find my receipt. Couldn’t handle those advent calendars he ate last night. Today is the second after all!

Because picking up after four kids isn’t enough! FLE was pretty exited about the first snowfall of the year and I’m pretty sure he pee’d on the floor. I’m getting rid of this thing!

I mean, that’s serious dedication right there! Can you imagine how long it took to clean that up?! Megan then posted that they had to return their FLE because it was just too much work, but after an outpouring of disappointment from their friends, FLE happened to make another appearance!

Awe! For pete’s sake! I knew it was too good to be true.

Honestly, these guys have just raised the parenting game bar a little too high here!

So FLE has been trying to get in the house all day. Then I found him doing this. I may have to bring him back in before the neighbours call the cops.

So we got our tree up and decorated with the kids today. And then FLE tried to get in the tree like his other “Elf on the Shelf” buddies.

Sacrificing your paint job is true dedication!

I brought in re-enforcement to get FLE the “Elf on the Shelf” under control.

I think FLE is pretty upset about last night and is seeking revenge against those responsible for duck taping him to the wall.

The couple, who have four children told Buzzfeed that it’s tough to find time to do the photo shoot every night, but so far they’ve been nailing it!  These are probably the most creative and hilarious Elf on the Shelf pictures I’ve seen, but I hope my kids never see them because there’s no way our elf can live up to the human FLE!

Honestly, these guys have just raised the parenting game bar a little too high here!
