We eat a lot of eggs in my house because everyone likes them. Between over easy or scrambled or soft boiled, any time I’m in a pinch over what to make for breakfast, lunch or dinner I know I can make eggs and everyone will be happy and satisfied5.
The one thing I’ve never made well is omelets because I always tend to burn the bottom of the omelet before I can flip it over (I’m not very skilled in the kitchen:)) which is why this easy method of making omelets in a bag might be a game changer for me!
In this video, posted by All Recipes to YouTube, it walks you through how to make an omelet in a large freezer bag using a pot of boiling water. Simply add two eggs and your choice of ingredients and drop in a pot of boiling water for 13 minutes. Now, some of you might think that’s a long time, but when you think that you can actually add multiple bags to one pot of water you can make omelets to order for everyone in your family all at the same time, instead of making them one at a time in pan.
If you have access to a kitchen at work this is also something you can make ahead and bring for a healthy and relatively easy work lunch too. I’m definitely going to give this one a try.
Check out the video below and let me know if you’ll be making your omelets in a bag from now on!
