Weddings are supposed to be full of joy, but for Anna Bozman and Travis Thompson who tied the knot this past October, there was also some sorrow on their special day. Anna and Travis, who had postponed their nuptials for years, finally tied the knot just 6 months after Anna’s son Lake passed away only 3 weeks before his ninth birthday.

Lake had passed away after a lengthy battle with Leukemia but Anna and Travis decided to go ahead with the wedding because they knew it was something that Lake would have wanted, and Anna wrote on a facebook page dedicated to her son that ‘I do know that ️Lake has been watching over us especially when we got married. He made sure that it would be a day that none of us would forget.’

As much as Anna and Travis felt Lake’s presence during their special day, Anna was dreading having a ‘family’ picture taken without her eldest son.

Although I felt his presence that day and I was actually happy, it was almost unbearable to take family pictures without him. I could feel my emotions taking over after the ceremony when it was time to take pictures. I became anxious and almost irritated but I knew these pictures had to be taken.

Anna’s photographer, Brandy Angel of Brandy Angel Photography  was able to come up with a way to make Anna and Travis’s wedding portrait truly a family picture that would honour Lake and give Anna a wedding picture she would treasure forever. Brandy, along with the help of Paul Woodward, was able to photoshop a faint image of Lake in to the wedding picture of Anna, Travis and their two younger children.

Anna was thrilled with the picture, writing  ‘I needed this picture more than she or anyone could ever know. THIS is my family.’

What a stunning image. So happy that the photographer was able to help give this family a picture that they will treasure for a lifetime.
