Our favorite hotels in Vail, is the Sonnenalp! We had the pleasure of staying there when we threw Trista and Ryan Sutter’s daughter Blakelsey her 2nd Birthday! It was amazing! We had a blast and the hotel was simply decadent ! European decadence and a family friendly atmosphere in the mountains of Colorado? Who would have thought!!!! The Sonnenalp Vail Resort is a 4th generation family owned and operated, all-suite Bavarian boutique mountain resort. It represents all that is unique, memorable and exceptional about family vacations. Rates start at $250. The rooms were spacious and well laid out. With fireplaces, bathroom with large soaking tub, separate shower, heated marble floor, and double vanities you are truly spoiled. Ours had a balcony that overlooked the main walking thoroughfare that sparkled with the snow falling on it! We went without kids and loved all of the space ! The Sonnenalp over indulges guests with phenomenal restaurant options. The Breakfast buffet in Ludwig’s was a genuine Bavarian feast. Decadent and family friendly it had anything and everything you and your children could ever want. We could not stop eating!!!! Healthy, organic local ingredients with an outstanding quality that includes waffles, pancakes, crepes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold cuts and cheeses. In addition there are pastries, breads, fruits and cereal. The Bully Ranch, a western-style restaurant had a succulent menu with mouth watering BBQ sauces, primarily steaks, ribs and burgers with a variety of domestic and imported beers, true family classics. The resort has installed a Natura® water system to offer an environmentally friendly alternative to bottled water to resort and dining guests (www.naturawater.com).was great great to get free bottled water in your room!
