As a mother to two young children, I am incredibly concerned about gun violence and the lack of gun control in our nation. I don’t want to turn on the news or the radio and hear yet another story about a killing at a mall, movie theater or (heaven forbid again) a school or college campus somewhere in our country.

I mean, we are the most progressive and modern nation in the world, and yet we are also the only nation that has a real problem when it comes to gun violence.

According to the Huffington Post, Everytown for Gun Safety created the video in conjunction with a renewed push for gun control laws after several mass shootings took place in recent months. Last week’s shooting at a holiday party in San Benardino, Calif, which killed 14 people, was the deadliest since the 2012 massacre of a Kindergarten class at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

“Thoughts and prayers alone from lawmakers aren’t enough: we demand stronger gun laws to protect our children, families and communities,” Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a part of Everytown for Gun Safety, said in a statement.
