I know that for a lot of people, finding out that you’re a pregnant teen has to come as one of the biggest shocks in the world. When you’re a young mom that’s still in high school and trying to navigate through life, it has to come as one of the biggest shocks in the world. And while it might not be the end of the world, finding out that you’re about to become a teen mom is a lot to deal with – both emotionally and physically.

With that being said, there have been plenty of teen moms who have managed to successfully raise their kids, finish college and start incredible careers. Sure, it might not be easy but it’s no impossible either. In fact, you’d be surprised to see that some of the most famous celebrities and public figures were one teen moms themselves!

1. Bristol Palin

Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin gave birth to her son, Tripp, in 2008, just after she turned 18. Of course, a lot of fans remember seeing her and her pregnant baby bump at the Republican National Convention that year while her mother was running for Vice President alongside Presidential candidate John McCain. A few months later, she told Fox News that abstinence is “not realistic at all.”

2. Keisha Castle-Hughes

She’s been nominated for an Academy Award, has rubbed elbows with the likes of Brad Pitt and has found fame and success thanks to her Hollywood career. But what many people don’t know is that Whale Rider star Keisha Castle-Hughes gave birth to daughter Felicity-Amore in 2007, a month before her 17th birthday. She and the baby’s father split in 2010 after 7 years together.

3. Maya Angelou

At the age of 17 in 1945, Maya Angelou gave birth to her only son, Guy Johnson. Despite her seven autobiographies including, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, Angelou has kept much of her personal life private. She has almost never spoken about her family or her life as a single mother.
