It doesn’t matter if you have one person, two people, or heck even three or four people raising your children with you: parenting is hard. And when you’re doing it on your won, sometimes you feel like you have to put on several hats to get the job done.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that being a single parent is impossible. There are millions out there that do it – and they do it pretty damn well – everyday. But there are just certain things single moms are sick and tired of hearing people ask them on a daily basis. No single moms, don’t religiously watch ‘The Bachelor’ every week. And no, we’re not so lucky to get free money (aka child support), either.

No, just because your husband is on a work trip this week, that doesn’t make you a single mom. That just makes you a wife who has a husband who travels often. It’s not the same thing, and it never will be, Brenda!

2. Do You Hate The Father?

Excuse me, but do single moms walk around and ask you if you are constantly arguing with your spouse? I mean, surely there are days that you hate him or her too, right? Just because we’re not together anymore, it doesn’t mean that we hate each other’s guts. In fact, many relationships are divorce turn out to be better than while they were still married.

3. Do You Worry About Your Child Not Having a Father Figure?

Look, there are hands-on dads, invisible dads, absentee dads, etc. You name it, I’m sure there’s someone out there that knows what it feels like to have a father that acts like a label. There are uncles, grandfathers, brothers, and even sports coaches out there that can fill in for the male father figure role that so many people worry about.
