Do you ever see marketing of a product, and find yourself scratching your head? Your first thought might be, “what in the world were they thinking?”
Sometimes these marketing disasters and complete faux-pas go viral because of their absurdity. Maybe that’s the business’ intention, to make a statement in a very noisy world in order to get their message heard.
But sometimes that message doesn’t come across the way it’s intended. That’s what happened to this condom company that was trying to be funny and quirky with their package design. We know it can take a lot to standout when it comes to introducing a new product, and finding ways through humor to get your product talked about is smart, but this design just left a lot of people scratching their heads.
Why? People didn’t get it and when you’re trying to take a stand against sexual assault and bring a message of consent, there really should be no gray area. That’s what this condom design led to, though.
