It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian was not the world’s biggest fan of pregnancy. In a lot of ways, I appreciated the megastar’s honesty about how downright miserable pregnancy can be, no matter how much the baby you’re growing is wanted and loved and appreciated.
And I think it was pretty refreshing to see a woman who was made famous by her looks show that pregnancy does not discriminate — it will give even the most beautiful of women extra weight and cankles and swelling and problems. Pregnancy doesn’t care if you’re a superstar and I think Kimmy K was, in a lot of ways, the first “real” look a lot of young women had at a celebrity pregnancy that didn’t look picture-perfect.
Kim’s struggles with pregnancy weren’t just cosmetic, of course. She also dealt with very real conditions such as preeclampsia, placenta accreta, high blood pressure, and bed rest. And because of all of her issues with pregnancy, Kim has come up with a solution to be able to expand her family with husband Kanye West.
