Regardless of who you are or where you’re from, I want to believe that deep down inside we are all good parents who make a decent amount of effort to make sure that our children are safe, happy, healthy and well-taken care of. I’m sure it doesn’t sound like a lot, but you’d be surprised at the amount of parents who don’t even do the bare minimum when it comes to taking care of their children. I’ve always said that there’s no such thing as part-time parenting. When it comes to parenthood, you need to go to the distance no matter what.
That’s why I get so upset at other people who openly judge, sneer and ridicule other parents who put in a good amount of effort when it comes to giving their children everything they need. I mean, let’s face it: no one is perfect. But we do our damn best. That’s why so many people are up in arms over this story of how one autistic boy was snack shamed by his school’s administration in Calgary, Canada. And once you see what he was snack shamed for, you won’t believe it. Is this any way to treat a child and at a school, no less?
Has snack-shaming at of school gone this out of hand?
